No one person "owns" the internet. What technically happens is that you buy a reservation for a domain name and then certain companies keep track of anyone who attempts to use your name. What you could say "owns" the internet is DNS services. When you pay for a domain name you pay for a Domain Name Service. Note: you didn't post on the 100th entry. No link for u.
